Biggest Loser Challenge Group for New Ladies
Hello and welome! My name is Lindsay and I am the creator of the Challenge Group for New Ladies on the Biggest Loser Club website. That's my Dad and I in the photo up there! I am a single, 27 year old Juvenile Probation Officer from Michigan, USA. I began my path to physical fitness on January 4th, 2008, with a goal of losing 60 lbs. As of two weeks into my program, I have lost 11.5 and have made some incredible new pals that are helping support me on this journey.
It's not an easy trek - it isn't for anyone. 11.5 lbs. in two weeks, you say?! Well, I owe that to large beginner's drop, supportive friends and family, and early motivation to do good. This isn't a diet for me, however - it's a lifestyle change. I believe that in order to have continued fitness and good health, you have to teach yourself not how to diet properly, but how to live properly. You're only given one lifetime and one body - it's up to you how responsible you want to be in taking care of it. Find what motivates you - whether that be your children, spouse or significant other, wanting to fit into clothing better, health issues you face - whatever it is, and promise yourself that when you reach your goal, you will never question those things again.
I believe that the most important step in successfully working towards your path to healthy living is to get a good support network. That is why I created the Challenge Thread for the ladies on the site who weren't prepared to participate in the more advanced challenges created by more seasoned members. I am happy to say that we have formed a great group of women - but even if you don't have an online network, reach out to those around you to support you on your journey. Don't be ashamed to tell them you're dieting and working on your fitness, towards creating a lasting, healthier you! In fact, the more people you tell, the more accountable you will hold yourself. And to those pesky little people that say "Oh, you don't need to diet. You're fine just the way you are!" Politely thank them for their compliment, and move on.
At the beginning of this journey, I weight 193.5 lbs - the highest I have ever been so far. My goal is to drop 60 pounds, with a maximum willingness around 70. For my frame and size, I should not weigh above 133, so unless I am one muscle-brawn woman, I want to get myself in shape, with a healthy BMI, energy renewed that I have since lost, a confidence that helps me in all walks of my life, strength and belief that I can accomplish many goals, and to avoid any potential health hazards that obesity can, and will most likely if not avoided, bring.
Thank you all for visiting my site, and I wish you tons of motivation. Get moving, focus on high protein and high fiber, and let others help you along. Best wishes,
Lindsay
Oh, and I've added my very own weight-loss blog. Feel free to read it if you would like. It is tracking my progress on my journey to healthier living.
